Rich and I chose Laura and Avant Garden to provide our flowers and some venue decor for our wedding on July 20th 2018 and all I can say is WOWLauras genuine passion for what she does is palatable and infectious; what I loved about her especially was her honesty and frankness about everything. Unfortunately on the run up to our day, some of the flowers shed suggested were no longer available due to the unusually hot weather but the way Laura handled it gave me even more confidence that Id rather have no one else for our day. She was professional and gave her honest opinion on alternatives, and gave me plenty of options. Rather than trying to avoid a potentially difficult conversation, she faced into it and resolved it near enough instantly. Thank you. Our flowers on the day were BEAUTIFUL; the bike she provided for the entrance was perfect to set the tone and everyone commented on how stunning the flowers were in contrast to our outfits. She was open to some of our more unusual ideas (such as using Lego men in the button holes for the boys of the wedding.... including the groom ) and her creativity and flair and second to none. Amazing. Laura did my wedding flowers for my September wedding and I had so many compliments on my bouquet, the colours were stunning and exactly what I wanted. I originally had the wedding booked for May so we were working for that date during the first consultation, we had to push back to September and luckily Laura could do my new date, I was so relieved, we had to change some of the flowers as they would not be in season for the new date but Laura recommended some flowers that were just as lovely. When we had our second consultation we went back through the colours and she recommended some more flowers Id never heard of that would compliment my colour scheme and they worked perfectly. She also supplied the flowers for the top of the cake and the table decorations which were a flower head under an upside down wine glass then a candle on top, Laura worked out how many I would need per table and made sure we had the right balance of the two coloured roses we chose. We had bride and bridesmaid bouquets, button holes and wrist corsages and everyone loved them, I couldnt bear to see my bouquet die as I loved it so much Ive dried it out so I can keep it as long as possible. I really cant recommend them enough.
Well I don't know where to start!! Laura started off as my wedding florist and venue dresser and turned into my counsellor, who kept me sane! She understood my garbled ideas, that combined many different themes and was the main source of ensuring that my big day was exactly how I had envisioned it to be. Laura took time to see me in person and respond to vast amounts of emails questioning the silliest things, which put my mind at ease and relieved so much stress! I was specific that I really wanted peonies in my arrangements, however, the peony season was coming to an end at the time of my wedding. Laura spent time researching alternatives until she found a rose (I forget the name of that one!) that was so close in similarity to the peony that I was happy! But then Laura went above and beyond and managed to source some of the most beautiful peonies I have ever seen, which to me is a true act of kindness knowing how much I liked them, although I had settled for an alternative. I have had so many compliments about how beautiful the flowers were, and cannot believe how long they have lasted after the big day! When they arrived the morning of the wedding I burst into tears at how beautiful they were. Laura you are amazing at your job, and I wish you all the luck in the world for the future of your fabulous business. I'd recommend to the most pickiest of bridezillas... if she can manage me, she can take on anyone! Thank you so much x
So when telling Laura I wanted to make my wedding 'flower themed', her absolute passion for what she does and talent was just outstanding from start to finish! I never for a second doubted that the flowers wouldn't be anything more but out of this world, after seeing lots of Laura's and Scott's work previously. The result was just unbelievable!! I knew you were both fantastic...but wow! Every single person has commented on just how beautiful the flowers were and I'll forever remember walking in for the first time (crying haha...) and just being completely blown away! You both were amazing and we couldn't recommend you enough!
