I like quaint old country pubs. Just thought this one was dark, dirty and cold despite the log fire. Ate here too. The lamb was lovely, but let down by under cooked hard vegetables. Very busy... to the point of cramped.Found the lack of belts worn by staff to be offensive.All I'm saying is Incredible Hulk boxer shorts in my face was not appropriate at meal times.Parking is free but a nightmare. Not helped by 3 people stood in the small car park with horses.Not my favourite country pub by a long shot.The real ales are the best thing here.
Truly marvellous real ale pub. Dont miss the Pedigree brought up from the cellar in jugs.Always busy with a convivial welcoming atmosphere. Wonderful high backed settles and quirky furniture.
Exceptional food! Had a works meal here and I must say the food was perfect, staff were great and pub was really friendly. .. thank you!
I was staying in the area and someone recommended this pub. Went on a Saturday night it was quite busy . So many drinks to choose from. I was served really quickly each time and I didn't want to leave.
Absolutely charming old pub with lovely staff. We were served good portions of hot, tasty roast dinner quickly on a busy Sunday lunchtime - delicious!I wasn't keen to be eating in a room with 3 dogs in it. I'll bring my crocodile next time to see how they like it.
