Lovely & welcoming..cosy pub..Had arranged to met my hubby & his cycling friend here tonight, for his usual lift home with his bike, after a few bevvies.Decided two bring our two 17 week German Sheppard puppies along with me, after checking on their website that it is dog friendly. Got to say they had a lovely welcome from other's there, so had lots of fuss & the landlady after coming over to great them, bought over a bowl of water without having to be asked.It was late summer since I was here last, got to say the premises look loads more inviting, a lot cleaner & generally a much pleasanter feel about the establishment..So looks as though the new Tenants are putting their own stamp on the place already..Already made plans to go along to the Jazz night in March..
Fantastic range of real ales cider a d much more. This pub is a hotspot for dogs and is dog friendly with space indoors and out.
Fabulous old fashioned pub. My favourite pub. A rare find these days! No ponsy menu just simple food. Kids only in the conservatory. Dog friendly! A real adult space. Very refreshing!! Excellent beers and drinks. It certainly ain't broke please don't try to fix it.
Excellent dog-friendly village pub with excellent beers and an excellent ambience. It's a proper pub where grown ups can sit or stand around and chew the fat. In reply to Daniel Chilvers' comment, the fact that the Poets isn't "good for kids" makes it even more attractive to those adults (me included) who like to enjoy their drink in peace and comfort without being disturbed by squawking ankle biters or brats running round with no consideration for others.A 5-star rating doesn't do the Poets justice!UPDATE! Sun 18 Nov 2018 There are now new people running the Poets. I haven't been there since they took over so my comments above might no longer be applicable
