Came here again for lunch today with my brother all the way from Lichfield. Just love it here. Friendly staff again and a lovely lunch and delicious hot chocolate. The cottage pie was the best and my smoked salmon and prawn sandwich was yummy too. Well worth a visit.
Lovely hotel, fabulous food! Beautiful little heated courtyard to sit in with a pre dinner drink. Took my partner there for his birthday- very romantic. Thank you to great service from Roger and staff.
I have had a few meals here recently and the food has impressed me , previously I felt the food was ok but lacking in options and often not to standard with the exception of the pizzas. However December's menu seems great, not had a bad meal off of it. In addition to this I've actually chose to drink here which I never would've done before , recently staff seem better trained , more polite and more knowledgeable, the restaurant and bar are more efficiently managed and the new restaurant manager in the daytime is lovely.
A modern hotel with clean comfortable rooms and great restaurant. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Located in the centre of Belper and within walking distance of shops and the rest of town.
We had a midweek lunch at the Lion Hotel - it was busy enough to have some atmosphere but there was no need to reserve a table. We all had pizza, which were delicious and good value, including the children's option which was much too big for our three-year-old (the staff were happy to box this up for us though so it wasn't wasted). The pub is clean, with good toilets and friendly staff and well kept beer.
